Nakheel

One of Dubai’s leading developers. In 2001, it was withdrawn from the Dubai World conglomerate and transferred under the control of the Dubai Government in the status of a state-owned company.

In Arabic Nakheel means «palm trees».

Flagship projects:

  • Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island in the form of a palm tree, consisting of a trunk, 16 leaves and a crescent. Trunk is connected with a crescent by an underground 6-lane tunnel. The district is the emirate’s leader in the most expensive property transactions.
  • Jebel Ali is a bulk island next to the port of Jebel Ali. The project features residential and hotel complexes, marinas, amusement parks and water parks.
  • Deira Islands is a complex of 4 man-made islands near the Deira district in Dubai. The development project includes residential and resort complexes, the world’s largest night market, shopping malls and entertainment facilities.
  • The World is a unique artificial archipelago, a «copy» of the Earth in 4km from Dubai’s coastline. With Nakheel projects it has increased from 70km in 2001 to over 370km.

The total area of the projects is over 15,000 hectares. The housing stock accommodates over 30,000 residents.

In addition to residential complexes and communities, the developer’s portfolio includes 6 hotels and 19 shopping malls.
